FAQs
What is The OFF-SITE Writing Workshop?
The OFF-SITE Writing Workshop is a professional writing workshop series developed by writer and editor Corinne Lestch, who combines her 15 years of expertise in journalism (Bachelor’s from Northwestern University) and creative writing (MFA from Columbia University) to identify compelling narratives and guide participants to produce their strongest, clearest, most vivid work.
Who is The OFF-SITE Writing Workshop for?
This series is for mid-career professionals, newly promoted executives, leaders in B2B industries, start-up founders, PR specialists, and industry experts who want to establish themselves as thought leaders and build credibility within their industries. This is for those who are not trained writers but who want to develop their voices and make their narratives feel personal and reflective of their experiences.
I have a team in my organization that wants to sign up. Can we do that?
Team-specific workshops tailored to your organization are available! Learn more on my Workshops for Teams page.
What will I take away from this workshop?
If you put in the time and effort you’ll need to thrive in this workshop, you will leave with a polished (or nearly polished), pitch-worthy op-ed or piece of writing with extensive line edits and developmental feedback from me and a path to move forward with confidence.
Will you be able to pitch my op-ed for me?
Every publication and outlet has their own instructions for pitching articles and guest essays; some have broad themes or topics of interest based on the news, while others look for more niche content for their specific audiences. I offer general pitching guidance in my workshops, but I can help identify outlets tailored to your piece and develop a pitch strategy if a 1:1 session is requested.
Can you just edit my piece for me if I’m not able to take the workshop?
Yes, I offer one-on-one line editing and developmental feedback. Reach out to me directly for pricing at workshop@corinnelestch.com.
What is your workshop cancellation policy?
If after attending the first session you realize it’s not for you, you may request a refund for the remaining sessions within three days of the first class. I want everyone to feel comfortable and bring their best selves to workshop.
What happens if I have to unexpectedly miss a class?
There are no make-up sessions and I do not offer 1:1 sessions in lieu of a missed session. However, I will work with you as much as possible to make sure you have the materials, assignments and prompts you missed during that session.
OK, but really — why should I take this workshop?
Come flex new muscles in a supportive, engaging environment! The cohorts are always a lot of fun, and previous participants have been able to sharpen their writing skills, add new techniques to their toolbox, share their work, and learn more about themselves.
“I loved hearing what others were writing and each of their distinctive voices. It really helped me clarify my distinctive voice.”
“As someone who just wanted to know what goes behind writing, this was super insightful. I got to learn about different styles of writing, knowing about audiences and how to keep them hooked.”
